Part III : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Extravanganza!

While Part I was exciting, Part II was interesting, Part III would be exhilarating! After conquering Singapore and Indonesia, it's time to cross the borders and go to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!

August 20 was our last day in Singapore, which was scheduled for the Universal Studios, but after an exciting day in US, we bought tickets for a 5-hour coach ride to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Golden Mile Complex, where many agencies would love to take your money and arrange a ride or a tour for you to KL. For more details, you may check out this site for schedule, rates and coaches, http://www.busonlineticket.com/.

The ride was approximately 5 hours, we started traveling at around 11:30 PM, so we arrived at around 4:30 AM. It was too early to go around Malaysia yet, so we went to a 24-hour open Mc Donalds and stayed for an hour. We asked the fast food crew where Chinatown is, where our hotel, Hotel Chinatown2 was located and fortunately, he said, we were just a walk away from it. So we hurried our way and went straight to the hotel, where we were never disappointed with the location, cleanliness and service. Please find a few details about it below.

We booked via www.hostelscentral.com and it was conveniently accommodated. We arrived too early for check-in on August 21 at 5:30 AM, but their very kind Mr. Receptionist, let us in, since there was a vacant room we could avail. Then spent a few hours to rest the tiring 5-hour Singapore-Kuala Lumpur trip before we went out for the extravagant day that awaits us.

First stop for Malaysia, the Petronas Tower! Before going there, we headed for a quick brunch at Kenny Rogers. Well, I loved Kenny Roger's chicken and muffins-Philippine style, but I kind of had a hard time qualifying the Malaysian style. I guess I just find it weird since I never got used to it, particularly on the taste of their rice. But they say it was delish, so perhaps it was indeed, for them. And nevertheless, we were hungry so we ate up!

Through our very kind hotel receptionist, we asked directions on how to get there, he gave us options on taking a cab and trying their MRT, and since we tried to get at least a chance to experience each country's MRTs, so we did! And it was cool... A little walk, then to the MRT station, then a little walk again and wallah! Petronas Tower right in front of us.

And so, what else do we do? Take pictures, but mind you, it wasn't that easy... To be able to get the top of the tower in the pic, we need to explore many possible positions to get the cam where it should, to get the right angle. We even walk a few meters away from the tower, down a few stair steps, climb a panel or something... a bit exhausting, but we both enjoyed the picture taking. We even took a few pictures of those trying so hard to get a good shot just like us... :))

Next stop-Genting Highlands and Theme Park! Mr. Hotel Receptionist also gave us some hints on how to get to Genting Highlands. Right after a little stroll in the mall, we took an MRT ride to the Genting Highlands Bus ride. Then after one (1) more hour, we were in the Genting Resorts World Cable Station.

The cable ride to the Genting Highlands was exciting at first but quite boring, since it lasted quite longer than expected... Somehow, I easily got bored just seating around and can't do anything because we were wrapped on a cable car way high above the ground.. ;)

So eventually we arrived, and the first thing I noticed, Starbucks was definitely all around the corners of Malaysia. Well, we strolled for a bit then took off through a Selecta ride going to the Theme Park. And while we're at it, took few pictures of the nice views along the way. Then we bought tickets from the counter, and entered the amazing Malaysia's Genting Theme Park. For more details, visit http://www.rwgenting.com/.

We did a few rides, strolled through all the nice places we could visit and enjoyed the fresh air and the great company of each other. Then we got tired and went to get a taste of their chocolates and they tastes sooo good. We bought some after taking pictures with their very cute and nicely arranged and decorated store.

After a few minutes of strolling and riding and picture taking, we went straight through the pavement out of the park and to the bus terminal. The cable ride back was fully booked so, we opted for the bus ride back to the City, then a cab back to our hotel, or should I say at the corner of the street where our hotel is located. It was already about 8:00 PM and the street of Chinatown is close from 3:00 PM to 12:00 MN because of the stalls of the merchants/businessmen selling from key chains to shirts to shoes to anything you could think of. And that's where we bought a 2-in-1 trolley/travel bag for a cheaper price, besides the keychains we meant to give to our friends back in the Phil..

After buying a few souvenirs for us and for some friends, and dinner at Mc Donalds, we retired for the night and headed back to our hotel to rest and prepared for another trip bound for Bangkok, Thailand. We again, requested from our hotel a cab ride to the airport which was RM 700, which was RM 100 cheaper than the regular cab we could find outside and it would be safer since this is the hotel's contact. So, wake up call was requested, cab arranged and off to BKK the next day for a wonderful experience.

So, resting for now and recharge for another adventure tomorrow... Before closing my eyes, I thought, what would tomorrow bring us in Bangkok but then I stopped and told myself that in no doubt, we will have another grand time, as Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today". Hence, so long and have a night full of hope for tomorrow's definitely going to be a great day with full of real love and happiness between real people!
