Corregidor Island Chance Tour

Image
In our last getaway, it was trekking to Mt. Taal and we were astounded with what our country can offer foreign and local tourists. Which somehow made us think of how was Philippines years ago when we were not so free to travel & take vacations within our own country. So, we decided to refresh our knowledge in history and took chances for a day tour at Corregidor, where huge portion of our history happened. It was one Monday morning of Dec. 12, 2011. We woke up early and went straight to Sun Cruises office to try our luck as chance passengers/participants for their day tour in the Island of Corregidor. Luckily, chances granted for all six (6) of us. Although, we only got the sun deck, non-air seats, but it was a refreshing ride nonetheless. So, we paid for Php 2,064.00 each, boarded the ferry and got excited for another good times with friends in a not so familiar territory. It took almost two hours for us to arrive at the island. As we stepped in and as we saw its front view,...

Part IV: Bangkok, Thailand - The Show Capital for meauh!

Last of the four place/country stops we had, was Bangkok, Thailand. On August 22, 2010, we were booked at 10:00 AM from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok via Airasia Airlines ( www.airasia.com ). While at Malaysia's airport, I was talked to by the locals in a certain foreign tongue that I couldn't understand. I thought they were talking to me in a Malaysian language, but no, they weren't. They were talking in Indonesian language, because they thought I was Indonesian. Now I know which country I belong, lol...   Anyway, it was our first time to visit all four countries, but in all four of them, Thailand had the most friendly welcome parties. When we arrived, we knew what hotel to go to and somehow, we just planned to take a cab and let the driver deliver us there. But what surprised us was there were lots of agencies and agents, welcoming all travelers and assisted them in getting a hotel or a tour if they need and for us, an agent gave us a piece of paper with the nam...

Part II: Indonesia, a side trip to fantanesia...

As I mentioned on the Part 1: Singapura, the universal synonym of fun, Part II would be a tale about our Indonesia day tour on the day of our Lord August 17, 2010. The nearest City in Indonesia from Singapore is the Batam City which is a 45-minute ride from Harbourfront. But before that day came, I requested my cousin An, to arrange a tour for us through the website she suggested, http://www.batamholidays.com/ . Well, I tried to book it online but it did not  push through since they required an address in Singapore and by default, I typed my address in Davao, Philippines. The whole day tour package was SGD 42.00 but it excludes the fuel charge, SGD 20.00 to be paid at HarbourFront - BatamFast Ferry Counter upon collecting the boarding cards, the Batam Tax, SGD 7.00 and the Tour Guide tips, SGD 2.00 per person. So all in all, that was SGD 79.00 for each of us. So after a good first night Singapore sleep, we went down to take our complimentary breakfast, which was a couple of to...
