2010 Spillover 06 : "Isipin mo na lng Dakak... Dakak nga!" (Think of it as Dakak... It's Dakak indeed!)

Image
Dakak Entrance Gate We used to joke this line to a couple of friends who were so excited to go to Dakak one time but wasn't able to. I never thought I'd have a chance to visit Dakak myself! Last December (2010), we (Me, Rommel and wife Tess) went to Dapitan ( http://www.dapitan.com/ ) and hoped we could have time to visit Dakak, but since we're on for an official business, we weren't sure we will have the time to explore Dapitan, much more to visit Dakak ( http://dapitan.com/Dakak.htm ). Our Inn While in Dapitan, we stayed for two nights at the Harohoy sa Baybayon. We got two air con double room with private T&B worth Php 600.00 a night each. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and went straight to work mode. We weren't so fortunate on the first day try but we did not give up that easily. Before the day ends on a Thursday, we were successful on our aim, so we had the third day free to start to sail home. Hunted House But before Thursday end...

The Facade...

Everyone wears a "face"... More often than not, we would try to read these faces, but we seldom succeed in getting the perfect reason, meaning and interpretation of the "face" one is wearing... Sometimes, we even get confused over dozens of indescribable "face" we encounter as we journey along this life. Most recently, I have had an alarming dilemma... A group of friends were having a party in a yacht... Each of them may only invite 1 friend to join or more if some of them does not bring any as long as the total number of friends on board remains the same. I was invited to join this party one time, and me and the rest of the invited guests were so excited. It was my first time, not to some though. I was one of the youngest member of the team, so it's my time to get this party experience. One day though, one of the organizers approached me and said, one has to let this party go since we have to make room for the "pilot". And if it's ok...

Too difficult to love? Or excuses?

Do you ask these questions? Am I too strange that you cannot see the simplicity of my being? Am I too strong, that it hides my fragility and weaknesses, that you simply ignore the depth of my pain? Am I too invulnerable that you find me difficult to love? Questions we sometimes ask. We even wonder why we needed to ask them? Questions we never thought we would one day... Was I wrong to have loved? Did I have the person who love me the most? Would he/she have my suffering a priority? Or would he/she be my knight in shining armor? Would he consider me in pain when I am and carry me, or would he take advantage of my weakness and stab me with unpleasantries? would she see my difficulty and assist me or would she let me suffer the consequencies of being who I am? We don't and cannot control another human being let alone ask them to feel how they should toward us. More often than not, it's a matter of how dear are we to them. How badly they want pain in or out of us. Or what p...

Asthma attack: to a higher level...

Last night, I wasn't able to sleep. Not at all. I was hearing sounds coming from within me and it didn't sound good... I couldn't sleep. My lungs are having trouble giving me air and it felt like it's too warm/hot in the room, I'm getting suffocated. Maybe I'm allergic to sawdust or something... The feeling's killing me... No air... My eyes are getting heavier each second but I couldn't sleep... Another that worries me is Labsy. He's got colds as well, temp last night was 37C. But thank God no more colds this morning... It's getting harder to breathe and it doesn't feel like a regular cough or a simple asthma attack like the usual. This is much painful and the air is so thin I couldn't catch it... A night before last I tried to get nebulized for the first time and I had a good night sleep. Then took and still taking Ventolin Expectorant-an anti-asthma cough syrup. Maybe I need another round now? But I don't want to rely on it ca...

2010 Spillover 05 : Museums and Old houses

Image
Still in Bacolod, now on our afternoon of the second day... After a full inasal lunch in Manukan Country, then a few buys in SM Bacolod, we called our taxi driver contact (by the way he was so kind and helpful and if you want his contact details, PM me) and agreed to a Php 600.00 whole afternoon going around the city and neighboring cities. First stop, Bacolod's Museum. It got us thinking, Mom actually blurted it out to us, that we have been visiting museums of the places we went to, but we haven't been to Davao's own museum. We answered, maybe we should set a schedule and visit it one of these days... That was November last year (2010), but until now, we haven't gone to the place since. :D We were greeted and welcomed by our tour guide, and mentioned the rules (where taking pictures are and not allowed). The museum was a collection of Bacolod's colorful history. We were in awe, as he mentioned the personalities who came from or who's ancestors are from Bac...

2010 Spillover 04 : Chicken Country's Inasal

Image
Still in Bacolod, way back November of last year (2010). Bacolod have a lot of things to offer, and the most famous of them all, is their Chicken Inasal. And where best to have them? Is at the place they call the "Manukan Country". All the while, me and labsy were thinking it's something like a big expensive restaurant with a lot of different kinds of chicken preparations or inasal variations. But it's not! It's a place of many food house serving their own versions of chicken inasal. And it's 24 hours, so any time you crave for inasal, a place not so expensive, is so ready for you, located in a very convenient walking distance away in between Bacolod's SM and Cathedral. So after our morning swim in Caribbean Waterpark, we transferred to Sylvia Manor then went out to Manukan Country for a big inasal lunch.... It was delicious, but I guess I was just loyal to our Davao's BBQ. So while eating Bacolod's inasal, we missed Davao's Colasa...

2010 Spillover 03 : Caribbean Waterpark

Image
Last year was a year for a lot of first times. One of the first times was our Bacolod trip last November. Labsy and I were both excited to visit Bacolod especially when a few days before going there, a Caribbean Waterpark in Bacolod was featured in Trip na Trip (a local TV show). So we booked our selves for an afternoon flight going to Bacolod and an overnight stay in the Caribbean Waterpark. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed and so instead of arriving late afternoon, we arrived early evening. When we arrived in the airport, we saw their famous big masque at the lobby and we spent a few minutes taking our pictures in/with it. Bacolod's airport is not in the city proper of Bacolod but at Silay City, two cities and one hour away from Bacolod. To get to Caribbean, we could either get in line to ride the van for Php 200.00 each or get a cab for Php 500.00. Since there were five (5) of us (me, labsy, mamo, nonots and helen), we took a cab instead. After an hour, we arrived a...
