Baguiocious, Zoobic and Klownz Airlines - Part II

Part I was the tiring, freezing and refreshing at the same time-escapade. It ended with a rest in a clean room of La Brea Inn (http://labrea.webs.com/) down in the Session Road, Baguio City, Philippines. And that's how Oct 23-Baguio-adventure faded, but remained in our hearts. Then the morning of the following day (Oct 24, 2010) came and so does the Part II of the getaway started.

We all woke up early, some of us had doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts (https://www.dunkindonuts.com/) across the street and most of us had hot chocolates and coffee, then we went straight to the Victory Liner (http://www.victoryliner.com/) terminal and bought ourselves tickets to Olongapo City to pet some animals, most specially tigers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger) in Zoobic, Subic (http://www.zoobic.com.ph/).

The road trip was a six-hour exhausting ride, but it was worth the wait. After the trip, we had lunch in Chowking (http://www.chowking.com/) and Labsy again contracted a jeepney driver for Php 700.00 to be our ride and guide all through out the afternoon.

Our first stop is Zoobic. For details on its rates and attractions, please visit http://www.zoobic.com.ph/.  So we bought our tickets, and off we went to start a fun afternoon among the animals of the house, farm and the wild. So we waited for our turn while we took a few pictures of the big white tiger in the cage. Then when our time came, an orientation first by our tour guide for the afternoon and so it begun. We had fun listening to our tour guide as he gave us information as we pass by and took pictures of and with the animals in the Zoo.

After the trail, we enjoyed their highly prepared Parade of Animals to the highest level. We had fun watching all the animals as they parade in front of us, some with head high, others on a very shy manner and some more with a pose they could all boast of.

After the parade, we went for a tramp ride for Php 50.00 each or you can bring your car and go straight to the assembly place for the tiger feeding. Then we transferred to a caged jeep, where two groups were able to fit, us six (6) and another group of five(5). To feed the tigers, we need to buy their raw chicken for Php 200.00, which both group paid for Php 100.00 each.

So this is what I believed to have been the most exciting attraction of all. We went into the highly fenced area, went to a tiger and fed him. We watched its big teeth as it devour the chicken held by one of our guides.. We were taking pictures but I was a bit scared to get myself too near from the tiger.

After the feeding, we went to the caged tigers for the close encounter and then to their Animal Muzooeum where we saw fossils of some animals they have in the zoo.

After the Zoobic experience we went for a little shopping at SBMA-Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (http://www.sbma.com/), then went for a dinner at Andoks, which has one of the best BBQs in the Philippines. After that superb and filled dinner, we said our farewell to Subic and went to the bus terminal to ride a trip bound for Manila.

It was exhausting, but it also was a lot of fun. Especially since it was a trip made with friends....

"Friends find the sweetest sense of happiness comes from simply being together."
