Chema's by the Sea Expose'

Chema's by the Sea Resort, Samal (IGACOS), Davao del Norte, PhilippinesOne of the family's favorite resorts in Samal, Davao del Norte, Philippines is the Bluewaters Resort (http://www.ebluwaters.com/). But every time we visit it, we were curious with the resort nested right next to it, the Chema's by the Sea Resort. It doesn't have a website, so we don't have much idea what the resort looks like and how'd it feel to be there... We searched on some blogs and red a few reviews, and somehow, decided to give it a try...

Before going:Pirata Bar and Glass House at Waterfront Insular Hotel, Davao
After contacting the owner through the cellphone number we got from someone's blog site, we made reservations for 7 people... Actually 8, but we didn't count my 2-year old niece... And take note that you cannot bring food to the resorts, except chips...

Getting there:
In getting tBoat Ride to Chema's by the Sea Resort, Samal, Davao del Norte, Philippineshere, you have to go to the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao (http://www.waterfronthotels.com.ph/davao/index.html), pass through it's lobby, leave the car in their parking area of course (;D), and then go straight towards their Pirata Bar. Right after the bar and the glass house is the pier for the boat(s) going to and fro the resort. And this is your first expense for the day, boat ride is 200 per trip per max of 10 in a group. If you happen to ride along with another group, different reservations, both group pays 200 each. And of course, you will have to come home, therefore another boat ride and another 200... A total of 400 for the boat ride, although you will not pay them yet, they will give you your bill on your way out (check out time!)...

When you get there:
Once you're there, take note of your numbers, entrance fee is 125.00 each... Since we were 7, so we thought, that'll be 125.00*7 = 875.00... But we were billed 1,000.00 instead, because... the 2-year old baby is counted... :(Only 1-year olds and below aren't)...

Huts:
And there were their umbrella huts, 500.00 each, good for 7 persons, in excess of 7, you will be charged additional 50.00 per person, but up to max of 10 only. More than 10, you'll have to get two huts.

Ambiance:
The place was cool, super cool I'd say.. It seemed very private, which I really like.. You can see only few people around, not much talking and shouting, it's a good place to skip town and get away from work and have a peaceful and relaxing day...

Food:
Since, there's a no-food policy, we ordered everything from their menu, though we brought a few chips with us... We had our lunch in their restaurant, foods aren't served in the huts except water and other drinks... Their food is a bit expensive though not that expensive, just a bit higher than the city restaurants we dine in on some occasions... To give a hint, their mango shake is 60.00.. .. ..

Beach:
It was PERFECT! I love their sand and the beach and everything that goes with it... Really nice... And when we went there, the weather was perfect, it was a perfect day for a swim...

Pool:
Later in the morning, the sun was up, sat right above us :), we felt its rays getting under our skin and it hurts... So we went to Chema's infinity pool, shadowed by trees around it and with a net right above it, thus, no leaves on the water and no UV rays hurting our skin cells... ;)

Going Home:
Last trip of the boat is 4:30 PM... So, after a few more swim, we went to their spa-like bathrooms (it was so cozy by the way..., mom loves the color, she took a picture of it), rinsed off the sea water, dressed up and took off to our way back home...
