Mount Taal Trek

Image
The boat, Mt. Taal and our excitement! Tagaytay has been one of the tourist destinations in the Philippines. We were able to visit the place last August (29th 2011) and have quite enjoyed the view and the fresh air. But, we wanted to really experience the beauty and prowess of Mt. Taal hands-on. Thus, last December 10, 2011, a Saturday, we put Taal Trek as our first itinerary for a weekend adventure! Eva, Adan, Ada, Labsy & Em-em at the b oat launch point We (Eva, Adan, Ada, Em2, Labsy & Me) flew from Davao on the last flight to Manila (9:50PM) on December 9. We weren't able to grab enough dinner before we went to the airport, so when we arrived in Manila, we stopped by the nearest McDonalds (just right in front of Terminal 3) and took a semi-snack/dinner. Just arrived at the peak When we reached our temporary home in Manila, we slept the night away and prepared ourselves for the Taal Trek the next morning. Morning came and we geared up early and took an F...

Manila-Puerto-Nido 03 : El Nido, Palawan

Labsy's 33rd birthday (Jan 23) was a blast! Food trip was one of a kind and we had a great time spending it in the Underground River and Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa in Sabang, Palawan. But the adventure just kicked off and will continue to the elusive, worth taking El Nido. Heading to Big Lagoon After having that "to die for" and "breath taking" dinner in Sheridan Resort ( http://donandji.blogspot.com/2011/03/manila-puerto-nido-02-birthday-prince.html ), we went back to the van and started the road trip to El Nido. The place we almost given up going to, due to time constraints, and maybe finances too. Leaving Big Lagoon Most of the roads were rough and dark, you wouldn't want to get the wheels yourself. :). But since all four of us was tired from the day's happenings, we were quietly having a good night sleep, despite the humps, bumps and the cold air inside the van. We reached El Nido around 5:30 AM. But before reaching town, we stopped ...

The schedule was to be in Manila by Saturday afternoon, Aug. 14, 2010... That was, as of the ticket purchased for me and labsy last year... Nonots was scheduled to be in Manila by that day as he prep for his work... But by I-don't-know-how, Papo's ship was in Batangas starting 1st week of the month and will still be there on that day and maybe onwards... So, by Friday, Aug 13, by virtue of authority of Mamo, purchased 6 tickets (her, me, labsy, nots, kels and neng) for a first flight from Davao to Manila the following day. After arriving in Manila, we went to the bus terminal in Buendia and went straight to Batangas to meet Papo... Thanks to my PPA family, we had a place to crash for our stay in Batangas. We visited Papo's ship, through a lil' boat going there (since it was only on anchorage). The weather was fine that day so, not much worry on the waves as the boat stroll along... Well, we didn't get nervous but Mom did... :)) But Papo was there to comfort her, s...
